Auburn Chamber of Commerce honors the spirit of giving by ‘Paying it Forward' to FLIC®

AUBURN _ The Auburn Chamber of Commerce recently made a $1,000 charitable donation to the Female Leadership Interest Council (FLIC®). The donation by the Chamber was made as part of an expression of gratitude to Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc. for the in-kind services the integrated marketing firm has provided for the Chamber in its most recent fiscal year.

"In keeping with Deborah's spirit of giving, we would like to follow her example," said Auburn Chamber President Bernard Gagnon. "Our two organizations have parallel philosophies which create a ‘perfect fit' collaboration. On behalf of the Board of Directors we wish to express our gratitude. We know Deborah Penta is incredibly appreciative of this donation which will assist FLIC® in accomplishing its goal of ‘paying it forward.'"

FLIC® is a non-profit 501 c (3) organization founded on the principles of female leadership, mentoring and the belief that when you can help someone else succeed, you personally grow and prosper. The Council's mission is to provide educational and mentoring support for women to assist in expanding their capabilities in the business world, which will increase the likelihood that their successes will benefit the community.  Since the organizations' inception, it has brought to our community compelling mentoring programs with powerhouse speakers such as women's rights activist Gloria Steinem, world renowned and best selling author Marci Shimoff, media trailblazer Liz Walker, former Miss Massachusetts and science whiz Erika Ebbel; and Linda Armstrong Kelly, mother of Tour de France multiple winner Lance Armstrong.

"FLIC® is extremely grateful to the Auburn Chamber for this very generous donation. It will go to good use in helping our organization further its mission in the community and in continuing to bring stellar programs to women in the region," said FLIC® founder, Deborah Penta. "Once again, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce has stepped up to 'pay it forward' and we cannot thank them enough for their appreciation and their gift to FLIC®."

"The Auburn Chamber of Commerce is grateful for our relationship with Deborah Penta and PENTA Communications, Inc. Penta's generosity in managing, developing, and producing the Chamber's newsletter has promoted our efforts in sharing resources with the community and serving our business members," said Auburn Chamber's Vice President Kim Harmon. "This communication is vital to the Chamber's success and growth – a big thank you to PENTA."
