March 9, 2011 - Women and Girls Learn Secrets to Healthy Body Image
WESTBOROUGH _ Body image has long been an issue that women struggle with in all stages of life. The Female Leadership Interest Council, FLIC®, will be hosting an evening program, "Loving the Skin You're in: Reflections on Body Image" on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts in Westborough. This program is the first in a "Mother and Daughter Educational Series" that will be held at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts as part of the FLIC® and YMCA Girls-Lead™ Initiative.

WORCESTER _ On Wednesday afternoon, November 10, 2010, the Center for Women and Enterprise, Clark University and FLIC®, the Female Leadership Interest Council, present "Blazing a Trail: Women Entrepreneurs and their Journeys," a panel presentation. This program will feature networking, presentation, a panel presentation and a Q&A.

May 6, 2010 - Auburn Chamber of Commerce honors the spirit of giving by ‘Paying it Forward' to FLIC®
AUBURN _ The Auburn Chamber of Commerce recently made a $1,000 charitable donation to the Female Leadership Interest Council (FLIC®). The donation by the Chamber was made as part of an expression of gratitude to Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc. for the in-kind services the integrated marketing firm has provided for the Chamber in its most recent fiscal year.

December 9, 2009 - Former United Nations Consultant Brings Green Focus
to FLIC® Advisory Board
WESTBOROUGH _ The Female Leadership Interest Council (FLIC®), recently announced the appointment of Green Energy Consultant and Project Manager Caitlin Connelly to its Advisory Board. Connelly was approached by FLIC® Founder Deborah Penta, who believed that Connelly would be a good addition to the board, particularly because of her extensive international green energy background with the United Nations.

WORCESTER _ The Female Leadership Interest Council succeeded in making a difference by bringing another Trailblazer to the region. Triumph over tragedy is Linda Armstrong Kelly’s story. The mother of Lance Armstrong, multiple Tour De France winner and cancer survivor, Armstrong Kelly shared her inspirational story with over 200 people who drove from all parts of New England at the Female Leadership Interest Council’s (FLIC®) fall trailblazing event, held on Nov. 19 at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

WORCESTER _ Recently nine business students from Westborough High School (WHS) were treated to a very unique event, the First Annual Dinner Celebration for Dress for Success Worcester. The students were at the fundraising gala thanks to a donation by FLIC® (Female Leadership Council).

October 26, 2009 - FLIC® and the YMCA Launch After School Mentoring Program for Middle School Girls

August 24, 2009 - Local Nonprofit Receives Summer Miracle
WORCESTER, MA. _ Cathi Coridan, executive director of Girls, Inc. in Worcester, is one very happy nonprofit executive. Coridan reported that despite the odds and the challenges it faced several months ago, the non-profit had an incredibly successful summer, awarding $27,000 in scholarships through donations, which funded 180 camp weeks for children in Worcester.

June 16, 2009 - Female Leadership Interest Council (FLIC®) challenges community to Pay it Forward
WORCESTER, MA. _ Deborah Penta, founder of FLIC® (Female Leadership Interest Council) is issuing a financial challenge to the Worcester community. FLIC has offered a $1,000 leadership grant to Girls Inc. of Worcester. The grant is earmarked for the organization’s camp and summer programs, which are currently struggling financially and in need of $15,000 by June 23.

November 20, 2008 - Former Miss Massachusetts and MIT Scientist Motivates Young Women for FLIC®
WESTBOROUGH, MA. _ The Female
Leadership Interest Council (FLIC®) hosted “An Evening with Erika Ebbel entitled Beauty and the Geek,” on Tuesday, November 18, at the Doubletree Hotel on Computer Drive in Westborough. Ebbel is an MIT scientist, a past Miss Massachusetts (2004), and founded the Whiz Kids Foundation in 2002. Whiz Kids is an organization that helps students with interest in math and science.
